On the 14th June 2012 I turn 30.
With 6 months left as a twenty something, I decided to set myself a list of things to do.
The aim of this blog is to help me end a decade of procrastination and to hopefully inspire others to do the same!
My mantra will be... "Know the true value of time; snatch, seize, and enjoy every moment of it. No idleness; no laziness; no procrastination; never put off till tomorrow what you can do today."
Better get cracking!

Try an extreme sport - Done!
Before I start, Extreme Running is officially an extreme sport (http://www.extremerunning.org). Second, an extreme sport is defined as:
"......... activities that are associated with an adrenaline rush that is felt by the participant. These activities are often dangerous and any mistake could result in injury or even death."
So, this evening I did my extreme sport! I went rain-running (running in the rain) with Andy.
Doesnt sound so extreme? Let me provide you with a few facts.....
1. Everytime I have been running with Andy I have either a) cried b) vomited or c) both;
2. Whilst running with Andy I often feel an extreme adrenaline rush (see definition of extreme sport);
3. Whilst running with Andy I often have the urge to injure myself; and
4. After running with Andy I often feel like I might die.
So, the extreme running in the rain consisted of visiting the local school sports ground and running laps (being chased by Andy). It was raining very heavily, but that was good as the rain masked the tears.
NB: I will be trying extreme mountain biking with Dan Whittaker soon, but haven't had time to do it before my birthday due to him marrying our Jen and being busy not breaking parts of his body.

Glamping at its best! |

Our lovely Pink Hut in all its glory! |
Small print - as glamping is glamorous camping - i have officially both glamped and camped. No matter what anybody says.....

Go to a meditation class - Done!
![]() |
The lovely Ilkley Friends Meeting House where weekly meditation classes are held... |
Tonight I went to a meditation class in Ilkley. Every week they teach how to meditate based on a different area or subject. The theme tonight was "Letting Go". The gist is that if you can let go of all the beliefs you have of what can make you happy, then you can focus on your internal happiness - which is the only real way to be happy. For example, if money made people happy then rich people would all be super happy (which we know they're not - see Gordon Ramsey), or if being beautiful made us happy then super models would be super happy super models (which they're not - see Naomi Campbell). So, if one is happy inside, it doesn't really matter what we have around us, we will be happy with what we've got.
All I could think during my meditation was how happy I'd be if I was a rich supermodel married to Gordon Ramsey...

Boots with wheels - you'd have thought it! |
Amanda - skater extraordinaire! |
Can you see the fear? |
Slightly wobbly.... |
Not so wobbly. |
Yesterday, myself and Amanda went to a fabulous rollerbooting exercise class in Morley. It was much fun and very painful. Rollerbooting isn't as easy as it was when you were 8......
